Barbara Ann Corcora

 Barbara Ann Corcoran, born on March 10, 1949, is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a public speaker as a consultant, columnist syndicated, speaker as an author, author, and television presenter. She founded The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage located in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001, and shortly thereafter exited the company. Corcoran has participated in 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, with the most significant being a $350,000 investment that covered 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran, who was the second child of 10 from a Catholic family with a low-income was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mother and a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father during Corcoran's early years. Her family sometimes relied upon free food delivery from a local, friendly grocery store. Corcoran states her father was drunk who was rude to her mother and disrespect. Corcoran struggled throughout her schooling, later learning that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. After failing several courses in her first year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and graduated as a D student.
