Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris, born October 20 1964 is a prominent American politician as well as a lawyer. She is currently the 49th vice president of the United States. She is also the first vice president to be female and highest-ranking female official in U.S. History, as also the first African American and second Asian American vice president. She is a member and former senator from California. Harris was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Howard University as well as the University of California Hastings College of the Law. Harris began her career at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. After that, she was enlisted to join the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003, she was elected the city's district attorney. Harris was elected Attorney-General of California in 2010 and was elected again in 2014. Harris was the United States junior senator from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris beat Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. As senator, she fought for reforms to healthcare and federal de-scheduling of cannabis, a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants as well as the DREAM Act, a ban of assault weapons and progressive tax reform. She earned national attention for her pointed examination of Trump administration officials during Senate hearings, which included Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, who was accused of assault on a woman.
